You’re Not Alone—Here’s What This Site Is About

Foreclosure is scary—especially when you don’t know what’s going on. You might hear your parents talking in low voices, getting mail that looks serious, or arguing about money. Maybe you’re worried about moving, switching schools, or friends finding out.

This site was built for teens who are dealing with all of that. Not for adults. Not for lawyers. For you.

Here, you’ll find:

• What foreclosure actually is (in normal words)

• What rights your family has

• What happens next and how long it takes

• What you can do if you’re scared, stressed, or being bullied

• Resources that are free or affordable if your parents need help

I made this site because I’ve seen what foreclosure looks like up close—and I know how many kids are stuck in the middle without answers. You deserve to understand what’s happening, and you deserve support.

Let’s take it one step at a time.

A woman sitting alone at a wooden table in a cozy library or cafe setting, reading a book. She is surrounded by shelves filled with books, and modern pendant lights are hanging above. The atmosphere is warm and inviting.

Who Are We?

Hi, I’m Ellie. I’m a senior in high school, and last summer I interned at a law firm in New York that helped banks with foreclosure cases. I got to attend court, meet with attorneys, and learn the legal side of things. But what stuck with me most wasn’t the paperwork or procedures—it was seeing how stressful, confusing, and overwhelming foreclosure is for families. Especially families without a lawyer. Especially kids.

What I realized was this: there are tons of resources out there for adults about foreclosure. But if you’re a teen and your family is going through it, you’re basically left in the dark.

That’s why I made this site.

To explain foreclosure in a way that makes sense for people our age. To talk about the legal stuff, but also the emotional stuff—like what it feels like when your family’s home is at risk. You might be confused. Scared. Embarrassed. Wondering if you’ll have to move or if your friends will find out. All of that is normal.

This website is here to walk you through it step-by-step. No legal jargon. No judgment. Just the facts and support you deserve.
